Peter Frank Pridham †

Peter Frank Pridham, with his elder sister Lucy (My mother), holding her daughter (My elder sister & Peters niece) - 1939

I am sure you can tell from this photo he wasn't very old. As he died in 1944, i think it is quite obvious he wasn't 22 years old when he died (the age on the tombstone). What he did, was what a great many other young people of that era did, that is, he gave false information about his age to the recruitment officer. As i said a lot of young English people did this for patriotism to help to defend our country and also to help in the liberation of other countries under occupation. Peter was in fact only 17 or 18 years old when he died

Peters mother originally came from Guernsey. Peter had 2 sisters, my mother Lucy, the eldest and Phyllis his other sister. Peter was the youngest and the only son. He has 3 nephews and 6 nieces. He was not married
